MH Clinic

The idea for this "Monster Clinic" originally spawned from a discussion on a DragonQuest forum, and I thought it'd fit in quite well with the story I was writing. After all, if you can magically survive pretty much anything in the game (And repeat Quests over and over when logic would dictate they shouldn't be) I wouldn't be all too surprised if things like this actually took place behind the scenes and off-screen

Anyway, on to what's going on here.

The concept for this "Monster Clinic" - which I oh so creatively named the M.H. Clinic - was to provide a whimsical means for keeping the monsters and hunters in the game and able to do their thing. They're the third of the three factions present, although with Monster Hunter: Stories having been announced, this might be extended to be third of four factions. Riders ftw <3   *ahem*  Moving that aside, they're intended to assist with a wide range of afflictions - from common illnesses, stomachaches, and so on all the way up to more severe things like fractured bones or carving knives stuck in your tail. Assuming you can afford their services, that is.


This is where I was again inspired by 's works, namely the 'Service Fee' video where the Felynes take a cut of your reward every time you botch the Quest. I figured they'd do the same, but why not worm even more resources out of this? The Clinic's not above helping the hunter's guild either, nor are they above taking their reward money when their members get KO'ed in the field. Monsters get KO'ed, same thing - take resources from them.... And then sell those back to the Hunter's Guild. Sneaky sneaky. 

That's a general summation of what they do. Keep both sides up and able to do their thing, but at a price. If you can't afford it, well you'll be stuck doing those 1 ~ 3 Star Quests for the rest of your "career"
For the monsters, that means being the cause of said Quests - or serving as cannon fodder in higher ranked ones until they can repay the Clinic. Which for the lowly monsters, pretty much never happens


Pictured here is the Najarala character 'Mendi' I created alongside my Jaggi story. She's one of the few members of the Clinic who is honestly interested in helping others in the name of doing good as opposed for doing so for profit.
